Mary Loann Hansen Solt

Mary Loann Hansen Solt passed away peacefully on August 22, 2022. Loann was born September 1, 1940 in Nephi Utah to Llyod E. Hansen and Mary Vera Syme.

Loann met the love of her life Jerry Leon Solt when she was 13. They were married on November 14, 1958. Together they had four children, thirteen grandchildren and forty great grandchildren. Loann absolutely loved the time she spent with her great grandchildren. She was always amazed by their accomplishments and told everyone she met about them. She was very religious as a child and carried that throughout her adulthood. She had her patriarchal blessing at 15. Loann attended seminary from sixth grade until her graduation from high school. She enjoyed spending hours talking to the missionaries and hearing their stories and sharing hers.

In 1958 Loann graduated from South High and went to Hollywood Beauty College. She enjoyed sharing her love for sweets with others. Loann made delicious fudge at Christmas time that she shared with her neighbors and family members. Being with people gave her the opportunity to talk and she loved to talk for hours! Her and Jerry had many gatherings where family and friends would come eat and chat. Those moments meant the world to Loann. Her cards also meant a lot to her. Birthday cards, Christmas cards, any card she received she kept it and read the treasured messages over and over.

Traveling was another way she spent time with her family. Together they enjoyed many different vacations and camping trips. She loved traveling with her sweetheart Jerry most of all. One of their favorite locations to visit was Wendover. They went there on their honeymoon and many more times during their 62 years together. She often spoke of her trips to Spain and Alaska as well.

Loann loved sharing her stories with neighbors. Her neighbors truly were a blessing to her and she enjoyed the time she spent with each one. Loann looked forward to their visits every week. She knew many people in her community and all that met her will never forget her. Loann made sure that the people she met in her life would remember her always. She was loved and will never be forgotten.

Loann is finally where she wanted to be with her one and only Jerry. Loann is survived by her sisters, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, one sister, her husband, her son Lyle Solt and her grandson Jeremy Solt.

Loann's viewing will be at Affordable Funerals and Cremations (4387 S 500 W, Murray, UT 84123) from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday August 30, 2022. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary (10055 S, State St, Sandy, UT 84070) at 12:30pm. There will be a luncheon at (1750 N 900 W, West Bountiful, UT 84087) the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Immediately following the graveside service.
