Alvin Wayne

d. March 19, 2021

1950-2021

Salt Lake City, Utah - On Saturday, March 13, 2021, Alvin App passed into the loving arms of his wife, Marion, after bravely battling lung cancer for several months. Al was born in Watertown, South Dakota on May 1, 1950 and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon along with his brothers Mike, Joe, Arnold, Robert, Richard, and sisters Mabel, Pauline, Phyllis, and Mary.

Al joined the United States Marine Corps as a young man and proudly served during the Vietnam Conflict. He faithfully lived by the motto, "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" for the rest of his life. Al looked forward to his weekly trips to the Veterans Memorial Hospital where he made lasting friendships with fellow veterans. Along with his wife Marion, he participated in the Veterans Home Health program where he opened his home and heart to many veterans in need of a place to live and feel safe. Al was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help whenever needed.

Al met his wife, Marion, while stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. They were married on September 29, 1972 and later welcomed their daughter Celena on January 14, 1977. Celena was the joy of their life and very much loved. Celena's children, William, Jordin, and Mikayla brought much happiness and love to their grandparents, along with all the Fur babies.

Al worked at Hill Air Force Base for 34 years as a Medical Supply Inspector. He loved his job and made several friends during his working career. With a passion for fishing, Al spent his spare time at Fish Lake or Jordanelle Reservoir waiting on the big one!

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Marion. He will always be loved and remembered by his surviving family, including his daughter: Celena (Brian); grandchildren: William, Jordin, Mikayla; brother, Mike; sister, Mabel; his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; several nieces and nephews; cousins, and numerous friends.
