Ann Stoddard McFadden

June 2, 1957 — March 6, 2025

Ann Stoddard McFadden, born June 2, 1957, in Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Jason Bryan, in South Jordan, Utah. She was the cherished daughter of Harold Joseph and Donna Jensen Stoddard and the beloved wife of Steven McFadden.

Ann married Steven McFadden on January 8, 1981, in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and shared experiences.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to Lindsey Bryan (Jason) and Jeffrey McFadden (Abby) and absolutely adored her grandchildren—Mason Fenstermaker, Nixon Fenstermaker, Anders McFadden, and Eira McFadden. In earlier years, she loved taking her grandsons on outings—letting them pick out a toy at Deseret Industries, going to the park, running everyday errands, and making every moment feel special.

Ann was the youngest of five children and grew up with four older brothers—Rick Stoddard (Jean), Ron Stoddard, Drew Stoddard (deceased), and John Stoddard. She spent much of her childhood keeping up with them, developing a love for sports and an adventurous spirit that stayed with her throughout her life.

Ann was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith that shaped her life and inspired her service. She served in numerous callings, including Young Women Camp Director, Relief Society teacher, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and leadership roles in the Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women presidencies. Her favorite scripture, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10), was a guiding principle in her life.

Ann had a fun-loving personality and a wide range of interests. She was an avid sports fan, always cheering on BYU football and the Utah Jazz. In her younger years, she loved playing basketball and volleyball, and when her son, Jeff, was growing up, she was always there for his sporting events, supporting him in everything he did. She also enjoyed boating and dirt biking with Steve and loved her weekly movie dates with Lindsey. Beyond that, she found joy in photography, scrapbooking, and watching game shows—especially The Price Is Right and Family Feud!

Ann was an avid reader throughout her life and continued reading up until her passing. She especially loved biographies, always eager to learn about the lives and experiences of others.

In her later years, Ann found happiness working as a floral delivery driver, delighting in bringing smiles to people’s faces. She also had a special love for treasure hunting at Deseret Industries, often bringing her grandchildren along for special outings.

Above all, Ann’s life was one of service and devotion to her family. She lovingly cared for both her own parents and Steve’s parents in her and Steve’s home during their final years, ensuring they remained surrounded by comfort and love.
