1957 ~ 2020 Bokryun Elizabeth Choi Smith (1957-2020)
Bokryun Smith passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2020.  She was born August 12, 1957 in Seoul, Korea to Hyung Tae Choi (father) and Eunoka Bae (mother), both deceased.  She had just turned 63. She is survived by two sisters. Oldest,Hongryun, younger sister, Yejung who both reside in Koreaalong with other family.
Bokryun (Elizabeth) used to play the saxophone in High School,was a tour guide at the 1988 Olympics in Korea and worked as a tour guide and in the photography department at the Polynesian Cultural Center. She attended BYU Hawaii and that's where she met Stephen. Stephen proposed on May 12, 1994 after 3 months of dating.  Since the Salt Lake Temple was booked and Stephen's parents were living in Colorado Springs they traveled to Colorado and were married June 22, 1994 in the DenverTemple.
They were blessed with two wonderful children, Michelle, 20 and Matthew, 18.  Bokryun worked at the Salt Lake Beehive Clothing for about 6 years before she had her stroke at the Riverside Park 29th Ward picnic on August 25, 2012.  She suffered with an ischemic stroke (cerebral hemorrhage) and had several more strokes until the date of her passing.
Bokryun, with her kind heart volunteered to translate into Korean for General Conference.  She was always one to find you and say hello and ask how you were doing with a big smile on her face. She was very unselfish and very dedicated to her family and sacrificed dearly.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 7-8pm MST at the Affordable Funeral located at 4387 So. 500 W. in Murray, Ut. Due to COVID only 25 people will be allowed to physically attend at one time.  There will be a virtual viewing for all who would like to participate by Zoom.  Meeting ID 80128789233.  No pass code is needed.
The funeral services will he held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Salt Lake Riverside Stake Center, 1148 W. 500 No. in Salt Lake City from 7-8:30pm so that her family and friends from Korea can login to view the services virtually.  Only 20 will be able to physically attend and will receive an invitation to the service.  There will be a Zoom virtual service.  Meeting ID 915 3757 4195.  Pass code 526302.
