Bradley Wayne Sermon (79), our beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on March 13, 2025, after valiantly battling glioblastoma. He was born on March 6, 1946, in Rigby Idaho to Wayne and Alavon Sermon. He married Leslie Trello on June 9, 1972, in the Oakland California Temple.
Brad spent his childhood on the family farm in Swan Valley, Idaho, on the banks of the Snake River. At a young age he developed a sharp mind for science, math, and physics. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1964 as valedictorian. He pursued his love of science by attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and later Brigham Young University (BYU) where he graduated with an MS degree in physics, and met his sweetheart, Leslie.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Germany. He served in the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Lieutenant. His service took him all over the United States and overseas.
Brad had a lifelong passion for music, science, and individual rights and freedoms. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved working in the Temple.
Later in life, he was the primary caregiver for his sweetheart Leslie and was an example of Christ-like love and service through his unwavering commitment to caring for her.
Brad is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Leslie Trello Sermon, Tony (Tracey) Sermon, Maria (Rob) Bingham, and Kristina (John) Sundwall. Siblings; Randy (Kathy) Sermon, Jeff (Debbie) Sermon, John (Tracy) Sermon, Tami (Lane) Barber, Wendy Sermon and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was a humble and kind soul and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to medical professionals, friends, family, and caregivers who provided kind and compassionate care for Brad and our family over the past year.
