Finally at Peace
To be loved by Brandon was the greatest gift a person could receive. A selfless love given by a gentle giant with a quirky smile. He was most happy making others laugh and there was a lot of laughter with Brandon. The ultimate prankster, who sometimes recruited an innocent friend or family member to take the fall in case the prank went south.
Brandon's size made him the perfect jungle gym for children. Countless kids have hung, dangled, bounced, jumped and attacked him. He loved every minute of it! Every beauty session, painted finger nails, hug, bedtime story and kiss goodnight. Lovingly named the baby whisperer.
He loved old movies but his all-time favorite was American Graffiti. His others were Chris Farley/Adam Sandler movies. Dead and Breakfast, Shawn of the Dead, Bob's Burgers and Ridiculousness. He loved music, his favorite singer was Otis Redding. He also liked Paul Thorn, Garth Brooks and Bob Seger. Brandon's deepest secret that he kept from everyone is that he loved Elton John!!!
Brandon also had some pretty special sayings including; "That's what she said!" "Fat Man in a little coat!", "I'm just sayin'" and many more He had special names for people. Rachelle was "Babe" (and others that we can't name here). Owen was "Fairy princess flying through the sky" along with "Bubba" and " Buddy". His best friend Clayton is known as "Mumble Dorf"
He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Rachelle Phillips. Also by his pride and joy, his son Owen. These two were his world, he provided for them and protected them with all he had. He had a fierce love for them like no other, even if at times he didn't show it.
He is also survived by his dad Gene and his mother Linda. His other mom, DeeAnna Lockhart, and stepfather Blaine Burnside. If he were here he would want to recognize Paul and Mona Phillips as another set of parents There was never a dull moment when the Lockhart brothers got together. His brother's Mike and Shane were a gift to Brandon. Being the middle of the three, he was the peace-keeper, preferably by talking, but if push came to shove, there was force. He had great love for his brothers. He looked forward to getting together with them when they could.
He was the big brother to three sisters Ashley, Chenise and Martina. Brandon loved to spend time with his girls. He really listened to them and what they had to say. When the two oldest started dating, it was on! The interrogation began and the chat about the birds and the bees. Then he and his dad would meet the poor guy. Brandon giving him the stink eye the whole time. He couldn't get enough time with Martina and relished every moment he had with her.
And then there is Clayton, the one named Mummble Dorf. They were inseparable and there were rumors of affairs. They were probably true, but only Mummble Dorf knows the truth. They were the closest of friends and the two of them would love to play off of each other! There are many fond memories of Clayton and Brandon together.
One thing that Rachelle said was that he always said "I love you" before you hang up the phone. Once they were arguing and she hung up on him. He immediately called her back and told her never do that again because, "You always want the last words someone hears to be I love you, because you never know if those will be the last words you ever get to say to them".
He would give the same advice to everyone if he could and to hold your family close. Hug your family and friends and leave with an "I love you" even if your angry. As you know Brandon would not want us to be saddened about his passing but remember all of the fun and happy times that we all had with him and to share your stories with each other.
A gofundme account has been started to help Rachelle in the coming months. Search for Brandon Lockhart.
Brandon wished to be cremated and his ashes spread out over the mountains. This will be on June 10, 2017 at a place to be determined.
