Dario Gaetano Brisighella,

1953 - 2013
Dario Gaetano Brisighella, Jr. aka "the Big Ragu" passed way in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 19, 2013 from complications due to cancer. A resident of North Logan, Utah, he was 59 years old.
Dario is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joy Brisighella, his daughter Natalie Brisighella and step-son Brandon Clark of Logan Utah. He is also survived by his father, Dario Brisighella Sr., step-sister Dina Lewandowski and numerous cousins and other relatives in Wisconsin. Dario also leaves behind a loyal and diverse group of friends and associates. An incredibly insightful and wise mentor and a profoundly impactful thought leader, his influence and powerful presence has touched many lives and will leave a lasting legacy.
Dario and his family relocated to Utah in 1997 from Aurora, Colorado to manage the Tremonton Utah plant of OEA, which was then acquired by Autoliv Corporation of Stockholm Sweden. Dario was later promoted to a Vice President position in the U.S. division, then to a Global Directorship within the international division of the company. He traveled frequently to the company's various holdings worldwide, but maintained an office in Ogden, Utah. Dario recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the company and on June 6, 2013 he received Autoliv's first Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the industry. "Dario's innovations and craftmanship will not only be remembered for many years to come, but also used to save lives for decades," said Autoliv Vice-President of Engineering Johan Löfvenholm.
In his position as a Global Director of Initiator and MGG Development, he was proud of his work designing and implementing life-saving automotive safety devices which he liked to call "man-rated safety products," meaning that every time one of his devices deployed, it potentially saved a person's life. Dario was responsible for over a dozen patents for innovative solutions in the industry, improving and engineering safety devices and mechanisms that are in most vehicles on the road today.  He considered this to be his most important life accomplishment.
Dario served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an officer and member of the Bridgerland RC flying club for many years and was an avid hobbyist, having followed in his father's footsteps building and flying radio controlled models. Dario was also well known for his culinary skills. As a gourmet cook and food enthusiast, he enjoyed delighting friends and family with his creative cooking skills, which he has passed on to his daughter and step-son throughout their lives.
A memorial luncheon/open house will be held Saturday, June 29 from noon to 3 p.m. at Callaway's Bistro in Smithfield, Utah and in Milwaukee Wisconsin on July 6.
