He graduated from Western High School in Anaheim California in 1964. After graduation he served a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brazil South Mission. Doug earned a tennis scholarship to BYU. While attending BYU he met and then married Susan Clough on May 31st, 1968 in the Salt Lake City temple, they later divorced. While at BYU he worked at the LTC (now the MTC), he also taught seminary at West Lake Jr high for two years. Doug graduated from BYU in 1970 with a degree in Portuguese and a Minor in Latin Political Science. The love our dad had for his children was apparent. On numerous occasions we were told of his great admiration and love that he had for each one of us and we share that same love and admiration for him. He instilled us the importance of family and that everything else comes second as far what was important.
Our dad was such a kind, gentle, compassionate, humble, loving, comforting, generous person, with a great sense of humor and ability to listen. We will miss him greatly. We love you dad.
The family would like to thank the staff at Stonehenge of Ogden, as well as the staff at Aspire Hospice for their compassionate and gentle care of our dad.
