Douglas Bollon Ruff

June 22, 1945 — January 5, 2024

Douglas Bollon Ruff passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2024 in Murray, Utah. He was born on June 22, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington to Elma May Bollon and Chester Benjamin Ruff.
Anybody that knew Doug, knew how special and unique he was. He was a hard worker his whole life and always making sure his kids were taken care of in the best way he knew how. Doug cut hair for the Army for around 20 years. He also worked at Head Start as a custodian for 14 years and the 10th East Senior Center for 27 years.
He was probably the biggest NASCAR fan and if you didn't know that, he would show you his NASCAR tattoo--of which he was so proud.
He was also a huge fan of wrestling and made sure to watch it every Monday and Friday nights. However, he was the biggest fan of all to his children. He always wanted to hang out with them, take them to all the racetracks and talk. Doug also loved the ladies! He was a ladies man and anytime he could get attention, whether it was a smile, hug, or just a genuine conversation--it made his day. So thank you to the ladies that put that Douglas smile on his face with your kind words.
Doug began going to the Neighborhood House in 2021 and loved everything about it. He thrived each day there and we found out he was known at the Neighborhood House for his dance moves!
He will be missed by many, beyond words, and will forever be in the hearts of his children.
He is survived by his daughter Virginia (Ruff) Rideout (Shanna), Chester Ruff (Alicia), Daniel Ruff (Tammy), his brother Scott Ruff, ex-wife and mother of his children Jeanne Rideout, five grandchildren; David, Lisa, Fantasia, Izabella, Chelsea, and Elise.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Chester Ruff and Elma Bollon.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 22, 2024 at Liberty Park with a drum circle--that Doug loved so much.
