Elaine Hammer and her twin brother, Duane, were born on July 27, 1930, in Ogden, UT. She was a daughter of Cora Layman and Ray Hammer. Elaine passed away at her home on September 10, 2016, after a short illness. She married the love of her life,
Alan Maurice Heywood on March 19, 1949. They had five sons: J.C. (Julie), Alan (Janice), Harry (Johnnie), Larry and Gary.
Oh how she loved her boys!!!!
Elaine was known as mom, grandma, great-grandma and grandma-great. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She loved her eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was always interested in each one of them and loved spending special time with them.
Elaine retired from St. Benedict's Hospital in 1993. One thing Elaine loved to do and could literally spend hours and hours throughly enjoying herself, was shopping!!!!
Elaine is survived by brothers: Clyde and Duane Hammer. Special friend, Opal Jones. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Alan; sons: J.C. and Larry; daughter-in-law, Janice Heywood; brothers: Ralph (Rhea), Keith Hammer.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at West Weber 2nd Ward, 4100 W. 900 S., West Weber, UT. Following the viewing, a graveside service will be held a Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT.
