South Jordan, Utah-
Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend fought a courageous battle against Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer. He passed away on Sunday, July 16th, surrounded by his loving family.
Blaine was born on June 18, 1952, in Afton, Wyoming, to Percy Gilbert and Neola Nelson Anderson. Blaine lived there until age five; then, his family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho.
Blaine was raised and educated in Twin Falls, Idaho.
After graduation, Blaine moved to Walnut Creek, California, where he lived with his sister and brother-in-law – Merlin and Sharon Fullmer. He worked at the hospital there.
When he turned 19, he moved back to Twin Falls, Idaho, to prepare for a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was called to the England Southwest Mission. He loved his mission and the people he served. He loved His Mission President and his companions and kept in contact with many of them after all these years.
After his mission, he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, CSI college in Twin Falls, Idaho, and BYU in Provo, Utah.
Blaine was formerly married to Pamela K. Knoepfel, and together they had Kristan Wyatt.
Blaine met the love of his life, Janeen Elfors, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married, and that marriage was later solemnized in the Laie Hawaii Temple. Their great adventures had just begun.
Blaine and Janeen have a wonderful family with four daughters and three sons. They prioritized their family and emphasized spending time together, supporting each other through good and bad times.
Blaine loved being a dad to his seven children more than anything else. They were his life. At times, Blaine worked several jobs to provide a quality life for his children and make it possible for Janeen to stay home. Regardless of finances or work obligations, Blaine ensured that his family would take a vacation and spend quality time together every year.
The family loved to travel; some of their most treasured memories are from those trips. Blaine was always full of surprises, calling Janeen from work and telling her to get the bags packed because they were leaving on a journey that same afternoon.
Blaine and Janeen loved traveling and spent so much time on many adventures. They lived life to the fullest. They had the opportunity to go back to where Blaine served his mission in England and see the wonderful places he served. Blaine and Janeen loved the temple, and when the Rome, Italy temple was dedicated, they prioritized visiting this sacred temple.
Blaine was a hard worker, and he taught his children that value too.
He worked for Commercial Credit, Sheerson Lehman Brothers, Access long distance, Telarus and Crexendo. In many of these companies, he performed at the top. After many years of working for these great companies, he decided to go independently and start his own business. It has been a success for over 17 years. He loved all those he did business with and thought so highly of each customer.
Blaine served in many callings for the Church. He served with his whole heart and was willing to serve wherever he was called. He loved the Lord and would do whatever he needed to do to build up the Kingdom.
Blaine and Janeen loved the temple and made it a priority to attend every week. They were called to serve at the Jordan River Temple, where Blaine was an asst. Coordinator in the baptistry for four years. They were called again to serve two more years as an Ordinance Worker.
Blaine was a great man of service. He did it quietly and never boasted about what he had done. He diligently cared for and looked after his mother for over 40 years until she passed. Those of us who are close to him know that He lived a very Christ-like life. He loved God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. He always made time to teach his children and his grandchildren. He would never shy away from a favor and was always willing to help however he could. His children knew they could rely on him at any hour of the day and would often seek his advice. This was important to him.
We are so thankful for the honorable legacy Blaine left us. We will miss his quick wit, contagious smile, sense of humor, and calming ability to bring peace during all situations. We will miss laughing, traveling, and eating his homemade pizza at 10:00 o’clock at night.
We will miss him deeply and look forward to our glorious reunion with our dear sweet Blaine. We love you with all our hearts —until we meet again.
Blaine is survived by his loving wife, Janeen Elfors Anderson; his seven children, Kristan (Sean) Wyatt, Keira (Steve) Ford, Kartier Anderson, Kristoffer (Jessica) Anderson, Kody Anderson, Kolten (Anastasia) Anderson, Kjersti (Tyler) Conrad; 23 grandchildren, who loved and adored him; 3 sisters, Sharon (Merlin) Fullmer, Carol Hawk, and Pamela Lile. He is preceded in death by his father, Percy Gilbert Anderson, his mother, Neola Nelson Anderson, and his brothers-in-laws, Lowell Lile and Dennis Hawk.
We want to express our gratitude for our dear family and friends who have helped us along this journey with Blaine. We also would like to thank Brenae Bradford who was his angel of a nurse.
