Jackie Raye Johnson

d. December 15, 2020

After a rough year, and several health battles, Jackie Raye Johnson passed on Sunday, December 13, 2020 in St. George, Utah, surrounded by family. She was born on December 30, 1946, in Winslow, Arizona. Her family relocated to Needles, California in the late 1950's. Jackie graduated from Needles High School. She married Doyle Curtis Johnson on May 1, 1965. She worked in medical offices during her professional career, most notably for Dr. Harwood in Needles for over 10 years, until his retirement. Generations of Needles residents knew Jackie from her time there, working to serve her small community. Jackie enjoyed crafting in general, be it holiday projects, painting or scrapbooking, but her true love was crocheting. She was a master! She expertly crocheted blankets, scarves and even stuffed animals over her many years. She gracefully and easily completed very detailed patterns, and shared her beautiful work with everyone. Later in her retirement, Jackie spent time compiling and creating genealogy records for her entire extended family. She truly cared about the legacy of family. Jackie's lasting legacy will be that of the matriarch to her entire extended family. She was everyone's first call, and she jumped into action. Jackie was everyone's defender, their cheerleader, a caregiver and a counselor. Jackie was a Christian, she lived her life devoted to her faith and her family.

Beloved wife to Doyle for 55 years, he was by Jackie's side to the end. Dedicated mother to Delmar and Chris, and to her daughters-in-love Linda and Trish. Proud Grand-Mama to Derek, Logan, Sam and Josh. She was a loyal sister, aunt, cousin, niece and dear friend to countless others. She is preceded in death by her mother, Millie, her father, Lester, her brother, James and her sister, Phyllis. We hope to schedule a celebration of life for Jackie when pandemic conditions subside, when it will be safe for everyone to gather together.
