James William Clark, age 80, died on June 3, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1944, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, to Paul Francis and Mary Margaret (Keely) Clark. He married Harriet Wood in 1966. They divorced in 1987. He married Vickie J. Parker on August 14, 1988. They enjoyed 35 plus years together.
Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1987. He was stationed in Germany (two tours), Vietnam, Peru, and had numerous assignments in the U.S. During his time in the Army, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Tampa, and a master’s degree in international relations from Troy State University. He retired at the rank of Lt. Colonel.
Jim then earned an MBA from the University of Idaho, started his own business, and was elected to the Idaho House of Representatives where he served for 14 years. Jim was a lifelong learner and teacher. He loved collecting art, enjoyed golf, appreciated good music, loved to travel, and became a wonderful photographer in his retirement years. He completed his memoir "Nifty's Son" in 2023 and was organizing material for a second book at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Vickie, his daughters Phyllis "Tomi" Correll (Jim Bob), Julianne Eugley (Robert), his son Sean (Georganne), four granddaughters, a great grandson, and two great granddaughters. We all will miss him terribly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul and Bill, and a sister Marianne.
At Jim's request no service will be held. The family will scatter his ashes at a later date.
