James (Jimmy) Edward Patten passed away July, 13, in St. George Utah.
Jimmy was born in Inglewood California, July 26, 1941, to Majorie Elaine and Billy James Patten. He was the oldest son of three boys. He loved his brothers Jerry and Steven.
Jimmy had many jobs and careers over the years, but his favorite was working for his best friend Larry at the Spotted Dog Cafe in Springdale, Utah, where he eventually retired in 2014.
Jimmy loved the outdoors especially when he was younger growing up in California, where he was an avid surfer. He loved to hike and explore. He did the Pacific Coast Trail and did many hikes in Zion National Park while living there over the years. He still took daily walks up until his passing. He loved good music and was known to spend hours watching live performances on YouTube of the classics. He was always the life of the party and his friends always described him as a great time.
Jimmy is survived by his three sons Brian, Rob (Leslie) and Jeff. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Deb), grandchildren Breanna (Ryan), Brian Jr., Taylor, Asher and Olivia, great-grandchildren Orin, Lennon and River and cousin Linda. He is preceded in death by his wife Wendy, his parents and his brother Steven.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date this fall at his favorite place, the Spotted Dog.
