1991 ~ 2014
James Gorman Mason, Jr. left this earth on October 24, 2014 after a valiant battle with addiction. He arrived on August 25, 1991, bringing his family an immense joy that would prove to never wane.
James is a light. His magnetic personality and superb sense of humor was adored by all who met him. He was an old soul who loved music and was an avid reader. He was constantly seeking to know his Higher Power. Above all, James loved his family and friends It was nearly impossible to know James and to not be profoundly affected by him. He was our Jonathan Livingston Seagull. He approached every aspect of his life with a quiet courage and tenacity that never dissipated, despite the harrowing demons he was facing.
James is survived by his loving, adoring family; parents, James Mason and Trisa McBride, siblings, Allisa Mason, Kimberly Mason and Bryce Mason, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and close friends. We are eternally grateful to have been able to hold him for as long as we did and his life and memory will be forever cherished.
The family wishes to thank the loving staff at Recovery Ways, as well as the friends and loved ones who helped make the last few weeks of James' life the best weeks of his life.
