Salt Lake City, Utah -
Our beloved Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo went home to live eternally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 20, 2022. He passed away peacefully after a brave battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. Jim was not afraid of death because, as he said many times, “I know where I’m going and I’m ready”.
Jim is survived by his loving parents, Donald and Jodeen Rogers. Son, Chase Rogers (Brittany), Grandchildren, Lillie and Caiden Rogers. Sisters, Lorie Hildebrandt, Patti Spencer (Everett) and Connie Rowley. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Carl and Gladys Hess, Lloyd and Lillian Rogers and his prematurely born son.
Jim will be remembered for his sweet spirit and kindness, his sense of humor as well as his good looks. He was soft-spoken, but would speak his mind. During the last two years, he enjoyed walking down memory lane to the places our family lived over the years (Hugoton, Kansas, Millard, Nebraska, Midland, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah) reminiscing about the special times with family and friends along the way.
Jim loved the outdoors; particularly boating, camping and golfing with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his son, daughter in law, and grandkids riding four wheelers, shooting BB Guns, and watching the sun set, while enjoying the calm of the night by the campfire. He loved going on long adventures on his four wheeler, and having his grandson tag along with him. His grandson always said “Papa is my four wheel riding buddy”. He loved taking his granddaughter to ride and feed the horses in the neighborhood, and spending as much time with them as he could. Jim loved showing off his truck to anyone and everyone he knew, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Jim worked as a National and International Account Manager for Aramsco. Prior to that, he worked in the mortgage Industry originating, processing and closing residential mortgage loans.
Our family would like to thank Jim’s Oncology Team at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital; Huntsman at Home Hospice Team; and The Beehive House of Riverton for their compassionate and professional care during Jim’s incredibly heroic battle with brain cancer.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; 8575 South 700 East, Sandy, UT 84070. We welcome friends and family to come and celebrate Jim’s life and share special memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntsman Cancer Institute or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
