Our beloved, sweet, fun loving father and grandfather, John Charles Paulson, returned home to his Heavenly Father on February 21, 2015. He was born April 25, 1927 in Springvale, Minnesota to John Malcom and Elsie Mary Treichel Paulson. He lived life to the fullest and battled various medical conditions this past year. John has many accomplishments including his greatest which was his family. He was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings throughout his life. John was very patriotic and loved his country as he served in the Navy. He attended BYU and played BYU football which continued to be a huge part of his life. John worked for BYU for 35 years while working in the Facilities Department. John designed and produced protective sports equipment and was very skilled in the art of furniture upholstery. He also taught upholstery classes at BYU. John met his sweetheart, JoAnn Snell, in 1950 at BYU. Eight months later they were married and together they had 7 children. John was a caring man and served and loved helping others in need.
He is survived by his children, Jan (Lorie) Paulson, Jill Paulson, Jackie Paulson, Jeffrey (Sue) Paulson, Julie Paulson, Joey (Janet) Paulson and Jerreld (Jilleen) Paulson. He is also survived by siblings, Frances Lood (MN), Arthur L. Paulson, Marjorie Lewis, Doris Mott, Paul A. Paulson, and James Paulson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Snell; parents, John Malcom Paulson, Elsie Mary Treichel; siblings, Albert W. Paulson, Grace Anderson, Robert C. Paulson, Lyle W. Paulson, Betty Lood, Blanche Findell, Dorothy Ekins and Kenneth W. Paulson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS church located at 1785 East 400 South, Springville, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment at Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1977 South 400 East, Springville, Utah.
