Kandra Martinez Avery

d. August 11, 2020

1982 ~ 2020

Kandra Marie Martinez Avery, our candy cane...was born May 14, 1982 to Michael Avery and Jacqueline Avery in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Kandra was one of multiple siblings. Josef, Michaella, Nick, Cassidy, Alina, Shanna, and Shon Avery. Kandra is survived by her husband "Adrian" Bartolome Martinez and her four children Jayden David 19, Adreonna Marie 15, and the twins Tayanna Maria and Rayanna Makenzie 12.

She was extremely close to her grandma, Patsy Edward Rich, and shared her passion for painting and crafting. Kandra had a natural-born talent for both. The Year of 2004 was an important and memorable year for her with the loss of her grandma Patsy a few weeks before she met the love of her life and husband Adrian Bartolome Martinez. They were both important events in Kandra's life. They shared their life together since March 8th of the same year 2004. Adrian became part of her and her son's life, Jayden. Adrian accepted her son Jayden and treated him as a son ever since that moment. "Adrian came into my life and never left," Kandra always said. On November 22nd of 2004 they were blessed with their beautiful daughter Adreonna. Four years later on June 19th, 2008 the sweet twins, Tayanna Maria and Rayanna Makenzie would come into their life as a double blessing. Her children where always the joy of her life.

She loved going fishing and made beautiful memories fishing at the Jordan river with her dad, her brother Joe, and her other younger siblings Michaela, Nick and Kassidy. Adrian and her children would sometimes join in those beautiful memories.

Her strong faith and belief in Heavenly Father and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were a big part in her life and on June 2nd, 2011 she married Adrian Bartolome Martinez. She always enjoyed life. She always enjoyed going fishing at the lakes, and her favorite holiday was Halloween. She was always excited about making costumes for her and her children. But what she loved the most was going shopping like any other beautiful woman.

She was a passionate artist who expressed herself in her beautiful paintings and crafts. Always attracted by bright colors such as pink, yellow, blue, purple, and green (some of her favorites). She loved to feel pretty and was never afraid to try new colors on her makeup and hairstyle. Throughout her life Kandra and her family faced many challenges and health trials with her and her children. But never gave up. Trials that could have broken others... but not her. She always faced them and came out stronger each time. The death of her dad, Michael Avery, on June 17, 2017 broke Kandra's heart followed by her mom's death on February 18, 2018. these tragic events affected Kandra's life tremendously and 2 years after the death of her parents.

Sadly,

on the night of Sunday, August 2, 2020

Kandra's beautiful golden heart stopped beating...

Kandra passed away in her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Kandra, our candy cane, will always be remembered and we'll keep her memories alive...

Adreonna: "my mom was my biggest support and best friend. I knew she would listen to me no matter what was going on".

Tayanna remembers her: "She was so brave. She was always there for me and she always was my savior and hero".

Rayannna's words are: "My mom was always so caring and loving, she accepted everybody. Anyone who would come to her".

She never gave up on people she loved no matter what. There are not enough words to describe mom.

Her husband Adrian Bartolome would say..."I always wanted to be strong for her but she was always the brave and strong one..she never gave up on me and our kids. There's only one place where she belongs...and it is in my heart".

Surrounded by loved ones, a viewing will be held at 3070 Nila Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84124 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life at her Graveside Service, Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117

When tomorrow starts without me,

And I am not here to see you,

If the sun should rise and find your eyes,

Feel with tears from me.

I wish so much you wouldn't cry,

The way you did today,

While thinking of the many things

We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,

As much as I love you,

And each time you think of me,

I know you'll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me,

Don't think we are far apart,

For every time you think of me,

I am right there in your heart.
