1939 ~ 2015
On Sunday, September 20th, 2015, we lost the most important member of our family. At seventy-six years old, Kenneth Lee Newman unexpectedly passed away from a massive heart attack. Kinnie was the foundation of his wonderful family. His family meant the world to him, and he never let us forget just how much he loved and cared for us.
Kinnie was born February 5, 1939, in Chico, California, to Wade and Elsie Newman. On November 17, 1958, he married the love of his life Diana L. Barredo. Kinnie was an active member of the United States Navy when he met Diana, and served for four years. After his years in the service, Kinnie graduated from American River College in Sacramento, California. Kinnie later decided sitting behind a desk was not for him, and hit the road for forty-three years of driving truck. His favorite second-seat driver was his wife, Diana, who drove with him for twenty years. Kinnie retired in 2005 to become a full-time Papa and gardener.
Kinnie is survived by his loving wife, Diana, of fifty-seven years, his two daughters Stephanie McOmie and Kimberlee Neuman, his beloved sister Vera (Frank) Beers, his fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Kinnie is preceded in death by his beloved son Allen, his parents Wade & Elsie, and his two sons-in-law, Michael McOmie and Michael Neuman.
