Kenneth R Young

Kenneth R. Young "Ken" age 82 died on October 24, 2024. Ken was born on July 9, 1942, in Idaho Falls, ID to Olea Ivie and Don Young. He married his love and forever friend, Cara Burnham, on July 26, 1968.

Ken cherished his upbringing in and around the Island Park area where he learned to hunt, fish and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. He was an entrepreneur at a young age and carried that over to his adult life where he owned and ran a successful material handling business in Salt Lake City for over 30 years. He served in the Air Force in and was stationed in Taipei during the Vietnam War. Ken learned how to skydive while serving in the military and enjoyed doing that and hang gliding while living in Utah. He also loved bowling, golfing, fishing, camping, hunting, mountain bike riding, go-cart racing and playing cards with friends and family throughout his life.

He is survived by his Ex-wife Cara, daughter Katrina (Kory), son Brian, granddaughter Kylee, granddaughter Taysia, grandson Kolton (Maria), granddaughter Kassidy and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ken is preceded in death by his mother Olea, father Don, stepfather Lloyd Beasley, his brothers Corky, Monty, Bob and sister Vera.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 2nd from 2:30-5:30 at the Athena VII, 111 W. 9000 S., Sandy, Utah 84070
