Kevin L Bennion passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 24, 2023. He was born to Shirley and Lowell A. Bennion in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 11, 1950.
After graduating from Kearns High School in 1968 he married his high school sweetheart Ellen Marie Mitchell on September 5, 1969, in the Salt Lake City temple. Kevin and Ellen lived the first four years of their marriage traveling the world while he served in the United Sates Air Force. They spent time in Texas, USA, and all over Europe: Germany, England, Spain, Turkey and a few other places. Together they raised four daughters and one son. Kevin’s life and everything he did was based around his family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many positions for the church, putting all his heart into any calling he had. No matter if he was a counselor in the bishopric, scoutmaster or even as a primary teacher. He loved his Heavenly Father and would do anything that was asked of him in service. He lived his life following the scout motto, “Be Prepared”. You could see that by walking into his garage and seeing all the items that he saved “just in case he needed them”, or by looking in his pockets and finding what he had in them: pocketknife, Band-Aids (in his wallet), nail clippers or even a flashlight. His love language was teasing.
Kevin is survived by his loving devoted wife Ellen Marie Mitchell Bennion, his little brother Cory (Patti) Bennion and in-laws Allen Luker (Sandy Beach) and Dorothy Dicou, his four Daughters: Brooke Bennion (Andrew Mulipola), Laurie (Daniel) Payne, Ashlie (Nicholas) Nolan and Aubrie (Steven) Ortiz and his son Adam (Melissa) Bennion as well as His 8 grandchildren: AJ, Kylie, Whitney, Hailee, Treavan, Shane, Allie, and Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Lowell Andrew Bennion and Shirley Armitage Bennion, his brothers Lowell, Lyle, and Jan Bennion his Sister Joyce Luker and his in-laws Claire and LuRae Mitchell and their son Gary Mitchell and their daughter Marsha Walker.
