Lafayette Parkin Kocherhans

Lafayette (Lafe) Parkin Kocherhans, age 63, died on October 25, 2023. He was born on February 13, 1960, in Lovell, Wyoming to Leo and Ruth Kocherhans. He married his beloved wife Jean on April 11, 1981, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

Even though a failing heart took Lafe away from this world, his loving heart was felt by all who were close to him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his life stories. He was passionate about sports and was dedicated to his chosen teams established in childhood. He had a deep love of music, and that love was passed along to his children who value the power of music in their lives today. Fall was his favorite season as he looked forward to the long-held tradition of hunting with his brothers. He kept busy solving puzzles throughout his life, through games and deciphering a complex movie plot. He had a special way of expressing his love and wisdom through poetry and letter writing. Lafe appreciated long drives through the canyons to admire the beauty of nature. At his side was the love of his life, a constant companion who shared in his wonderment and joy, making each journey a testament to the love they nurtured together. He had a deep love for the Lord and honored the faith that he held as the compass for his life. His presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared will be with us forever.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters Heather and Donna; his son Joesph and wife Masiel. His beloved grandchildren Phillip, Dominic, Brooklyn, and Bailee. His dear siblings and spouses, Jim, Pam, Penny, Jackie, Sam, Denise, Dru, and Darwin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo and his mother Ruth, and his sisters Gail and Donna.
