1971 ~ 2016
LaFrance "Frenchy" Herrera died July 7th, 2016 in her home. Frenchy had just turned 45 on June 2nd. She was born June 2, 1971 at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT to her loving parents Danny and Rita Herrera. She graduated from South High School in 1989. She received her Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Catholic Church.
Frenchy was a very intelligent woman who cared greatly for everyone around her. If you asked her, she would say that her greatest passion and joy in life was her 8 Grandchildren, whom she loved unequivocally. All her Grandchildren affectionately called her "Beeba".
Frenchy loved doing arts and crafts, especially with her Grandchildren. She was known for her sense of humor and sharp wit. She was a jokester, (just like her daddy), and loved to make people laugh, even if it was at her own expense. Even though she wasn't materially wealthy, she always tried to make sure that those around her were well cared for.
Frenchy valiantly battled various health issues over the years including Congestive Heart Disease. She never lost her sense of humor or spirit through all her trials.
She is survived by her life partner of over 20 years, Joseph E. Samora (Bebo), Mother Rita Herrera, daughters Margarita (Moises) Garcia, Lilia Villarreal, Isabel (Alex Lopes) Villarreal. She had 3 siblings; Lisa (Joe) Cisneros, Danny "Kino" Herrera, Angel (Arnulfo) Hernandez. 8 Grandchildren include: Angel, Moises (Goober), Domonick, Avery, Sophia, Aurora, Audrey, and Miguel. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by her father: Danny "Dan the Man" Herrera, who passed away April 11th, 2016. Also, grandparents Ernesto and Cordelia Samora, and Elinior and Lucia Herrera, as well as Uncle Raul Samora and cousin Vincent "Chente" Samora. If anyone is missed, please pardon us.
