Leon "Lonnie" Melvin Mickelsen left this world peacefully on July 24, 2014 and is in no more pain at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 9, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a US Army Veteran, whom is survived by his wife Charlotte of 46 years, and their children: Sons- Travis Mickelsen (Teddie), Cody (Diane) Mickelsen, Daughters- Lisa Mickelsen, Kimberly Mickelsen (Daniel), and Crystal (Cameron) Shawcroft. Children from a previous marriage: Sons- Leslie (Janine) Mickelsen, Jamie Mickelsen, Daughter- Holly Jackson. He is also survived by his mother, Donna Fausett and brothers Tommy, Robin, and Randy, sisters- Gayle, Judy, Sandy, and Bambi, 21 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by Dad, John Fausett, his brothers Duane and Larry Mickelsen, granddaughter Amber and Father, Frank Mickelsen.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Granger 25th Ward located at 2101 West 3100 South, West Valley City, Utah. There will also be a viewing Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Taylorsville Memorial Park Cemetery located at 4600 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
