Leslie Lee Jones Jr. of Richmond, Virginia returned home to be in the presence of our Lord on April 27, 2024. Leslie was born July 29, 1952 to Leslie Sr. and Dessie Jones in Richmond, Virginia.
He met his wife while serving in the Air Force in Sumter South Carolina. Les and Sally were married May 1, 1976. Their first daughter, Amanda Lee was born May 25, 1978. Followed by the apple of Les' eye, Bonny Kay, born June 6, 1983. Rounding out with the birth of Crystal Gayle on March 18, 1986.
Lee was an avid fisherman. He spent countless days at the pier at Buckroe beach in Hampton, VA. He was even photographed for a news article while a hurricane was approaching!
When his daughter Bonny, moved to the beach he would spend almost every weekend at her home just so he could go fishing. He enjoyed hunting as well but did not enjoy that as much as he did fishing.
He was a truck driver for the majority of his adult life. Once he started having children, he switched to a local run so he was home every night and weekend to be with his family. He loved watching WWE wrestling and never missed a televised event. Les was a great dad! He taught his daughters the most important things in life:
1. How to change a tire.
2. That we don't need a man to take care of us but it sure is nice to have.
3. How to cook.
4. Most importantly, how to fish. (you catch it you clean it! And you bait your own hook!)
5. Fix your face.
6. How to laugh.
7. Farts will always be funny!
Leslie was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Sr.; mother, Dessie; sister, Dolores; brother-in-law, Albert; and nephew, Mike.
