Linda Kay Christensen McCloud

March 13, 1961 — December 28, 2022

Taylorsville, Utah -

Linda Kay Christensen McCloud
Daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, Grandma, and Great Grandma. She gained beautiful wings on December 28th, 2022. She was greeted by many loved ones and friends. We can only imagine the special reunion in Heaven between Linda and her Mother, Billie; and brother Scotty.

Linda was born on March 13th, 1961, in Salt Lake City Utah to Harold Ray and Billie Ann Christensen. Linda was the 2nd of six children. She was raised in Taylorsville Utah.

Linda married her best friend, William R. McCloud October 14th, 1989 in Murray Utah, and later moved to Arizona. Together they raised their 4 children, and later raised their granddaughter.

January of 2021, Linda was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. From that moment forward, she was a FIGHTER. Linda was full of fight and had an army of loved ones behind her. Several chemo sessions, doctor appointments, MRI’s, scopes and scan’s later- Linda received the news, December 2021 that she was CANCER FREE- an absolute blessing.

Unfortunately, a few months into 2022- she received news that the cancer had come back. Although, that news was disheartening she didn’t give up the fight. She got right back to chemo and treatments- determined to win this battle. She fought hard. She fought until the very end. December, she found out she had an inoperable perforated bowel; and decided to come home, to enjoy her last days with the ones she loved most. And even until her last breath, Linda was fighting. The cancer didn’t win, and the cancer didn’t take her. We find joy in imagining the celebration and the sound of ringing bells she must have experienced when she walked through those pearly gates.

She was full of so much life, laughter, love and cheer. Linda really enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved taking rides with her husband through Alpine Loop to watch the leaves change colors in the fall. She enjoyed spontaneous weekend get-a-ways with her husband. She loved taking drives to find as many sunflower fields she could because they reminded her of her Mother. Sunflowers were Linda’s favorite. She loved going with her Dad to Malad and Moroni to place flowers and wreaths on the headstones for the holidays. She looked forward to a newer tradition of taking her girls out for brunch at Ruth’s Diner for a Mother’s Day celebration. Linda loved family gatherings, loto tickets, her soap opera; Young and the Restless, and anything her grandbabies were doing – she was there!

Linda is survived by her loving husband William Russell McCloud, her children; Cody Hickman, Douglas (fiancé Gwendolyn Jonhson) Hickman, Amie (Shane) Ware, and Kayla (Matthew) Gunn, fourteen grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by her father; Harold Ray Christensen, her sisters; Julie (Mike) Bennett, Holli (Todd) Timothy, Cindy (Craig) Williams; and brother Steven (Shelley) Christensen.

We would like to express a special THANK YOU to a few people that really helped Linda fight this battle! Please accept our deepest gratitude to the following- Dr. Mark Lewis, Dr. Rachel Montague, Jason Lesser, Dr. Tae Kim, Dr. Laura Lambert, and Benjamin and his team from Hospice.
