Martin Joseph Martinez, 06/08/1956 - 03/ 21/24.
“Marteen” was a one man band with a great big plan to walk with the main man, so all things being equal, he is finally right where he wants to be. The constant mover, beloved brother & friend to many can finally kick back with J.C. and put his feet up. In a modern world where people are seeing less of each other, Martin took it upon himself to stay in touch with just about everyone. You could always ask him about people you hadn’t seen or heard from in a while & more often than not he had the latest. Martin had a life long infatuation with guitars & Harleys & sometimes out of nowhere he would belt out the chorus of “Gloria”. No longer able to handle the 2 wheeled variety , he was relegated to a trike for his last ride. Highly interactive in the salt lake street community, he was a trusted source of relief to those of us that need a helping hand sometimes. The city has suffered a great loss of humanity. Having no children of his own, Martin really played the “cool” uncle to a T, and was a wonderful Great uncle to a whole new generation. Perhaps he felt his path to peace was coming as he was baptised on 12/23/23, in preparation to meet his maker. Preceded in death by parents, Henry & Clara. Siblings, Thomas, Russell, Karim, & Malis. Survived by wife, Gerri. Brothers, Timothy & Xavier. Local 27 Brothers , & Numerous Nieces & Nephews who loved him dearly.
