1943 - 2013
Martin Lee Tomlin, age 69, passed away peacefully in his home in West Valley City, Utah, July 17, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 5, 1943 in Murray, Utah to Martin and Marie Tomlin. He married Joy McCarty on September 20, 1965. They have six children.
He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific on board the U.S.S. Ranger. He worked many years at the University of Utah as a Research Device Specialist. Later in life he went back to school and earned his bachelor's degree in business management.
In his free time, he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as golfing, camping, fishing and sailing. He also loved spending time with his family and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was one of Jehovah's witnesses where he served as an Elder for over 20 years. His hope for the "New System" never wavered.
He is survived by his wife Joy Tomlin, children Karen Jolley, Scott Searcy, Lisa Evans, Teresa Lehauli (Lony), Marty Tomlin, and Brandy Gold (Rick), 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sister Virginia Best. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Marie, sisters Marie and Georgia, brother Richard and a great grandchild, Emily.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 3636 South 3200 West, West Valley City, Utah.
