1960 ~ 2015
Mary Janeen Klath Mietchen passed away peacefully with her family by her side March 26, 2015 at Huntsman Cancer Hospital after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. She fought this battle over eleven years and her strength, will, determination and faith were a few of her amazing qualities.
Mary was born in Mayville, North Dakota on January 11, 1960 to James Orien and Elaine Bergitte Grinde Klath. She graduated from May Port High School in 1978 and attended North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton, North Dakota. After graduating, she lived in Grand Forks, North Dakota and worked for Production Credit Association until moving to Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her husband Bernie R. Mietchen and were married September 4, 1993.
She had a successful 23 year career with Western Airlines which was bought out by Delta Airlines. The last few years she worked with determination and fight that was unexplainable until she had to retire due to her battle with cancer.
Her family was her life and she enjoyed every moment together with them. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the cabin, her dogs (Cody, Jackson I and Jackson II), camping, hunting and fishing and loved to visit. We can't count the times she lost her voice from talking and laughing so much.
