Mary Jean Sanderson, Age 78, Died on March 27, 2023, in St George, Utah. She was born on June 29, 1944, in Fayette, Utah to Merrill Paul Mellor and LaDean Sherwood. She married Julian Jay Sanderson on January 3,1964.
Mary Jean was a simple person. She never needed the latest and greatest anything. She was able to get the most out of everything she purchased and it seemed to last forever. Her fondest time for her, each year, was the annual Christmas Eve or Christmas Day family get together. She worked so hard to prepare a delicious meal that her family could enjoy. When dinner was finished, it was game time. Apples to Apples was the game of choice. Regardless of the game played, the game always led to hours of laughter and memories. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great- grandchildren. She supported them in all their activities, whether it be musical concerts, graduations, football, soccer, baseball or basketball. She attended enough games to acquire a good understanding of each sport, which enabled her to follow along rather than just watch. If she was unable to attend any event, she would expect enough pictures to be sent to her to make her feel like she was there. Her greatest love was her cats. In her mind, they could do no wrong. Her greatest dream was to get out of the cold and move to St. George. In 2019, her dream came true and she was able to live there for the last four years of her life. She met two beautiful ladies, Joan and Glenda, that were so kind and helpful to her, especially when her health began to deteriorate. The family will be forever grateful for the love and support they provided to their mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Julina Price (Todd), son, Boyce Jay Sanderson (LeAnne), brothers, Stephen Mellor, LaVon Mellor (Bonnie), Lynn Mellor, sister, Karen Kester (Arland), grandchildren, Bo Price (Melissa), Callen Sanderson (Lily), Cordell Sanderson (Ahna), Emery Sanderson, Julian Sanderson, great grandsons, Abel and Quinn Price, preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Private family graveside will be held April 5th.
