Sandy, Utah -
Mustafa Syammach, Age 61, died on April 28, 2023. He was born on June 27, 1961, in Surabaya, Indonesia, to Abdullah and Aminah Syammach.
He married Josie Foster on December 18, 1987.
Mustafa was an avid outdoorsman, and as a geological engineer, he loved hiking and looking for fossils and rare rocks with his family. With any additional free time he loved to go hunting, raise his horses, and enjoy time at home with his family. He was loved by many for his ability to put a smile on anyone's face through his quick wit, compassion, and ability to be true to himself no matter what the circumstances were. He had an innate ability to know when others were in need of help, and would not hesitate to be there for them, no matter what the circumstances. He deeply loved his family and wanted nothing but the best for them.
He loved his children and wife immensely and enjoyed playing cards, grilling, and spending time at home gardening and taking care of the horses with everyone. His favorite thing in the world was taking his children to music lessons and on the weekends playing games in the backyard like bocce ball or the slip n slide.
Mustafa was a serial entrepreneur who loved waking up each day to trying to solve a new world problem. He owned several award winning horses and won two national competitions with those horses. He also loved mountain biking and his favorite ride was the death ride in Lake Tahoe, California.
He is survived by his lovely wife Josie, and his four children Amina, Sami, Joseph, and Aziz.
He is preceded by his parents Abdullah Syammach and Aminah Baradja, and his brother Hisham Syammach.
