O. Charles Horne passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at the age of 79 at his home in Washington, UT surrounded by family. He was born on October 29, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA to Merlin Samuel Horne and Greta Bernice Howard. He married Janice Combe on November 24, 1965 in the Mesa, AZ temple.
After serving an LDS mission in London, England, his love for flying led to a 25+ year career as a pilot, where he logged over 16,000 flight hours, the majority of which were as the Chief Pilot for Southwest Gas Corporation. Charles was a staunch defender of Liberty and loved teaching others about the Law as he worked with the National Center for Constitutional Studies, and his non-profit organization Friends of the Constitution. He was elected in 1984 and served one term in the Nevada Assembly, and also served for four years as the Mayor of Mesquite, NV. But above all else, Charles loved his family.
