1944 ~ 2014

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son Paul S. Draper passed away on July 19, 2014 shortly after his 70th birthday.  He was born to Hart Draper and Edith Vawdrey on June 19, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Paul served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1970 followed by 14 years on the Utah Ski Patrol.  Several years after his honorable discharge from the military he met the love of his life, Lisa Montoya, when they were both working for his family company HM Draper and Sons.  They married April 11, 1981.  Paul spent the rest of his career working for American Stores in accounting.

Paul and Lisa spent 30 wonderful years together raising their daughter Vicki Montoya in their home at Hidden Lake in Holiday, Utah, until Lisa preceded him in death 3 years ago on January 4, 2011.  They were surrounded by friends as well as family after Vicki married Leon Drage and they blessed them with the addition of their grandsons Derrick and Stone Drage.  They spent their years skiing, swimming and taking trips to Wendover and the family cabin at Fish Lake.  Paul was known and loved for his hospitality and fun loving attitude, sharing scotch and good company with those he loved.

Paul was lovingly cared for by his son-in-law Leon, the tremendously helpful staff of Applegate Hospice and his friends and neighbors John, Paul and Ann.  He found great solace and joy in the company of his family, especially his great granddaughter, Autumn Drage-Horowitz, in the last months of a well lived life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Draper, His parents, Hart and Edith Draper, Brother Dave and is survived by his daughter Vicki, son-in-law Leon, Grandson Derrick and his partner Madison, grandson Stone, great granddaughter Autumn Rose, brother Marc, sister Hollie, her husband Ross and their daughter Harmony.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Jordan City Cemetery located at 1300 West 7800 South, West Jordan, Utah.
