Ricky Lee Rieger, age 68, passed away on July 17, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Ricky was born on January 28, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Louise Thomas and Fred Emil Rieger. Ricky worked for the Salt Lake Tribune for 42 years as a Pressman and loved and took great pride in his profession. He loved to bowl and it was recorded that he bowled three 300 games! He is in the Kansas City Hall of Fame for bowling. He loved sports; his favorite teams were the Boston Celtics and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved his family very much and was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was truly one of a kind and is truly missed.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Graciela Rieger; his daughters Rebecca Rieger, Nicole Rieger, Jacqueline Rieger, Sara Rieger, and Jazmin Olayo; his sons Ryan Rieger and Jesus Perez; his sisters Reva Yeager, Raymona Thomas, and Rosemarie Rieger; his brother Ed Rieger; and his ever-growing progeny of grandchildren Jennifer Olayo, Yadira Olayo, Matheo Olayo, Grace Perez and Rey Perez.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Fred Emil Rieger and Mary Louise Thomas; his sisters Cheri Kelly and Christina Franklin; and his brother Fred Rieger.
A viewing and funeral service will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church located at 2375 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84109 on Friday, July 26, 2024 starting at 2:00pm.
