Salt Lake City, Utah -
Shandon James Gold was born February 22, 1999 in Salt Lake City. Although only here for 23 years, passing away on February 13, 2023, Shandon lived life to the fullest - enjoying nature, time spent at the family cabin in Bear Lake, and devoting time, love and energy to his falconry and dogs. Shandon’s Border Collie-Pyrenees mix, Jack and Bandit a German Corgi mix, were his constant companions and hiking partners.
Shandon was witty, passionate and sensitive. These qualities were demonstrated in his love for animals, and specifically the art of falconry. He spent hours watching the skies for his training falcons to return. Shandon appreciated solitude and silence.
Shandon found the love of his life, Matthew LeBlanc, and they were engaged and looking forward to marriage.
Survived by: Rachel and Gilbert Schorlemmer (parents), Michael and Robin Carbaugh (grandparents),
Jeff and Barbara Gold (grandparents), Matthew LeBlanc (fiancé), fur babies Bandit and Jack, and many loving siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by his father Erik Gold.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on February 23, 2023 at the Cottonwood Country Club, 1780 E. Lakewood Drive, Holliday from 2–5 pm.
We will never again see a hawk soaring that we do not think of Shandon.
