West Valley City, Utah -
Our beloved Father, Grandpa, Brother, and Uncle passed away at home in West Valley City February 10, 2023, surrounded by family. Talaiasi Sisi Pilivi, or Fine as many knew him, was born March 5, 1943, to Sione and Mele Pilivi in Neiafu, Tongatapu.
Fine was always a dreamer and eventually left Tonga to live out his own American dream. He was the first in his family to come to America, and he took great pride in bringing the same opportunities to his siblings. Fine met and married his sweetheart, Juanita Jean Sweat in June of 1971. Their children gave them five grandchildren; Paul Talaiasi, Kaitlin Silia(Ty), Porter Aisea, LisiaNita Ruth, and Taulangi He Lotu Ma’u “Langi”. Fine loved spending time with his family and was always making jokes, dancing, or giving his grandchildren boxing lessons. He also enjoyed trips to Wendover with his brothers.
Fine is survived by his children; Troy (Lorica) Pilivi, William Pilivi, Dianna Pilivi, three of his brothers; Aisea Pilivi, Francis Pilivi, Kava Kokohu, and his sister; Lisimani Taiana Pilivi.
