Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister, Vickie Lynn Engle, passed away surrounded by her family on December 13th 2021. Vickie put up a long fight with Liver disease. She was determined to hang on as long as she could! She made every day count. She got super feisty toward the end and her family loved seeing it.
Vickie was born to Lester Thacker and Ethel Akin on February 28, 1965. Vickie was a strong and proud single mom to 3 daughters. She also helped raise 2 of her grandchildren. She prided herself in her grandchildren. Vickie was a die hard New Orlean Saints fan. She sure loved Drew Bree's. Vickie started her life in Oaklawn Illinois and was a happy child who loved her mother and sisters. She had a beloved dog FiFi who remained her favorite dog ever. Vickie got her GED and managed many restaurants. She showed her girls what hard work was. Vickie was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a strong testimony and loved the gospel. She made sure to make every Holiday extra special and always did crafts. It did not matter what we had, she made sure to make you feel special. All her Grandchildren got a nickname from her.
Survived by her daughters, Amanda (Shaun) Moreno, Angela Smith, Alexis (Patrick) Jones. GrandChildren Taylor,Michael Smith, Florence Rane and Sebastian Coombs. Josiah, Leland and Shaylynn Moreno, Jason, Abigail Camizzi, Peyton, Marshall, Dominic and Kalli Jones. Sister Sondra (Arnoldo) Armenta. Nieces, nephews, and aunts and uncles.
Proceeded in death by Children Jason and Patricia Thacker Mother Ethel Ann Akin, Father Lester Lee Thacker and Sister Loretta Franey.
Vickie was so loved and will be truly missed

Private family services was held December 16th 2021 at 3:00pm
