William Steven Jones, Sr., 71, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Thursday, August 13, 2015. He was born to the late Milton Reay and Erma Jones, March 23, 1944, in Ogden, Utah. William graduated high school from Preston, Idaho and attended Utah State University. His marriage of 49 years to surviving wife, Beloved Susan Fay Jones, began in December 1966 at the Logan Temple, they lived together in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He served a Mission in the East Central States. Bill was a successful businessman who worked at Dun and Bradstreet. In 1985 he was chosen to be one of the first heart transplants. He loved sports, and eating his wife's home cooked meals with his family.
Bill is survived by his son William Steven Jones Jr., his grandchildren Shaliese, Eryka, Jace, and Andrew. He is also survived by his daughter-in-laws Sarah Jones and Suzie Jones, his sister Jeaneen Jones Page & Ken Page, and brother Ronald and Kerma Jones. Bill is predeceased by his two beloved sons Jason Charles and Anthony Scott Jones, his brother Reay Boyd Jones, his sister Eyvonne Warner Osborn.
In lieu of flowers, his wife would gratefully accept donations. The viewing will be at 11:00 a.m. and the services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at the LDS Church on 5565 South Neighbor Lane (approx. 1600 E.), Holladay, Utah, 84117. A private interment will be located in Randolph, Utah at a later date.
