Winnie Mae Day Foote passed away surrounded by her family in Grantsville, Utah on November 23, 2014 of pancreatic cancer.  She was 81 years old.

Winnie was born May 19, 1933 in Delta, Colorado.  She was the youngest daughter of Harry Hazelton Day and Minnie Maud Johnson.  Winnie married Gerald D. Richards and had four daughters.  She later married Garvin Uzel Foote who had one daughter and together they added another girl to the family.

Winnie lived in many different places including: Salt Lake City, Lehi, Moab, Lakepoint, and Grantsville Utah.  She also lived in Shelly, Idaho, Pima, Arizona, Los Angeles and Ventura, California.

Winnie was a life-long learner and as a child aspired to be an architect.  To that end she attended Snow College, but soon settled into her life-long calling of motherhood.  As a mom, she loved cooking, gardening, and sewing for her family.  Later Winnie attended Salt Lake Community College, and Ventura College.  It was her talent for cooking that led to her becoming a chef for the LDS Church, cooking for prophets and missionaries alike.  Winnie was an active member of the church and served in many callings.  She also enjoyed reading Mormon literature and studying church history.

Winnie is survived by her daughters: Cindy, Sandy (Larry), Julie, Kristi, Marilee (Nate) and step-daughter Janet (Art).  She has 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Winnie has one surviving sister, Joye.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Harry (Leo), Jessie, Zirita, Hoace (Gleave), Welby, Wanda, Arba, Dena Ann, and Joan (Ethel).  She was also met in heaven by two grandsons, Jonathan and Leo.

There will be a viewing for friends and family on Friday, November 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Affordable Funerals and Cremations--- 5239 Green Pine Drive Murray, UT 84123.  Grave-side services will be held at the Moab City Cemetery (Corner of East Mill Creek Drive and Sand Flats Road) on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 1:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, Winnie wished for money to be donated to autism research
