Wyndy Ann Stanger, beloved mother, wife and friend, was embraced by her Heavenly Father and countless loved ones and guided to the other side on May 14, 2013. Wyndy was born on August 22, 1960 in New Britain, Connecticut to Barbara Ellen Ferguson Smith and George Theodore Smith. She spent a great portion of her life growing up in Florida. She loved going back to Cocoa Beach and loved being near the ocean.
She met the love of her life, David Craig Stanger, in Huntington Beach, California and they married two weeks later on September 4, 1982 in Tijuana, Mexico. Together they moved to Utah and started their family. They bought their home in a wonderful neighborhood in American Fork, Utah in 1998, where they put down roots and raised their children.
Wyndy enjoyed collecting antiques and Louis Vuitton, gardening, cooking, eating crab legs, reading crime novels, and caring for her family. She worked for many years for The Brain Garden and also Forever Green, where she made close friends, mastered computer skills and was involved with international relations for the companies. While she found great joy in working outside the home and being around people, she was a mother and wife above all else. She spent her recent two years in Spring Creek, NV and loved sitting on the front porch watching the sun set with a glass of wine. She found great joy in spending time and singing with her grandchildren. She knew how to have a good time, and enjoyed going to Karaoke and was a social butterfly wherever she went. Everyone who knew her loved her instantly.
Wyndy is survived by her mother: Barbara Smith; Her children: Bryce Stanger, Jennifer Stanger, and Serena Stanger Strauss; her grandchildren: Nicholaus, Bently, Ashton, William, and Abby; her son-in-law: Robby Strauss ("Tough Guy" as she called him); Her daughter-in-law: Tanya Stanger; and countless family members and friends whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Craig Stanger.
Services will be held at the LDS American Fork 26th Ward located at 975 North 60 East, American Fork, Utah on Saturday, May 18, 2013, beginning with a reception at 10:00 a.m. with the Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held directly after the services.
Our family would like to extend a big thank you to the LDS American Fork 26th Ward for all of the support and kindness they have all shown us during this time. If we could hug each of you individually we would. Our mother loved all of you and we have always felt so welcome in your neighborhood. That will always be home for us.
